Dear Administration,

Have you ever felt like you were standing still with your business or career? Have you ever looked down a long hallway and saw only closed doors? It has happened to all of us. Sometimes we get stuck in our own little world and don't even notice the opportunities that are available to us. Some have found a solution. It is called the "Art of Communication", and it has its benefits. Neighbors told one of our co-owners not to mess with the "old mean man" that owned 12 acres off of Reems Creek. He did not listen. He called the man, made his appeal, and in 5 minutes the land was his for $25,000. Wow! Ask questions, meet people, and get involved. This newsletter is a great place to start.

Each & every home we design & build is built as if we each were to personally own it. Great Pride & Old World Craftsmanship go into each one of our projects.

We are currently building three custom homes in the King Heights Subdivision on Lower Christ School Rd. These homes are arts & craft style. Many amenities abound the inside that are usually only found in 1.5 mill & up houses. We are also currently working on developing a similar subdivision to that of King Heights with about 30-50 home sites, similar architectural standards & deed restrictions.

Racism Article Corrected
After talking to Jennifer the other day, some things were clarified concerning the situation. It appears that Jennifer's husband was not the actual person that ran down the driveway at the Builder and his clients. It was a nearby friend that was visiting. Very sorry... in the dark, everyone assumed that it was Jennifer's husband until now. From what Jennifer observed, the people who owned the home right next to the property were outraged that someone was going to build next to their home and were hoping to prevent it. All of us, including Jennifer and her husband, were confused as to why it had come to this. Realtors are regularly schooled on fair housing in the Asheville area. It was just an unexpected terrible experience that shouldn't of happened. It caused a lot of problems for everyone but the culprit. Sorry again Jennifer.

Beverly-Hanks New Office
Going down Merrimon Avenue, you will see the new Beverly-Hanks office being constructed by who else, but Beverly-Grant. With such a large building sitting at the edge of the road and parking in the back, it should bring a lot more attention than their previous location that was set back "kind of hidden", with parking in front. North Asheville is probably the last place to get developed in the County, but with places like Reynolds Mountain and Versant coming in, it will not be long until Asheville grows even more and the City limit lines are extended way North.

Need a Perfect Foundation & More?
As a construction subcontractor, Phase I Construction specializes in turnkey building starts for residential and commercial applications.  It starts with assessing an untouched lot for optimal green considerations and completes its portion of the project at the top of the foundation.

The scope of Phase I Construction's involvement includes but is not limited to foundation design and drafting, land clearing and grading, surveying, footings, block masonry, concrete flatwork, custom formwork, utility work, drainage work and finished grading.  The company easily executes conventional foundation projects including on and off frame modular home foundations, crawl spaces, and basements etc.  In addition, Phase 1 maintains a reputation for overcoming difficult site, schedule, and engineering challenges with efficiency.

While offering competitive rates for any individual part of a project, true gains in efficiency and schedule are made when it takes complete responsibility for a scope of services.  It is in the company's and customer's best interest to move men, material, and machinery in the proper order.  And, because Phase I maintains the equipment and has fully qualified staff, it is prepared to successfully and efficiently complete a project end to end - a plumb and square foundation on a lot ready for the next construction phase. Sam emailed a photo of one of his jobs and it had 48 corners, a stone ledge, garage floor, two stoops, and anchor bolts. The gravel and dirt were pre-positioned for patio construction. The utility sleeves in the footings were exposed for the other sub-trades to use after framing. This foundation was completed in 10 Days from building layout to anchor bolts!
